Although of course we all know this will never happen, and I believe IDA will increasingly lose market share and any edge because of it. Various components being open source would be even better. It would be smart for them to make it far more affordable to individuals, completely modernize their UI and internals, as well as significantly expanding on their SDK. As it gets better, more people use it, more people contribute to it, businesses start switching to it and contributing further improvements, etc. Ghidra is going to continue to improve and, being open source, will have a bit of a snowball effect. Its capable of creating maps of softwares execution to show the binary instructions that are actually executed by. They're going to be forced into changing their sales strategy anyway as Ghidra continues to get better, it's really shortsighted of them for not adjusting to that now. Right now the price is just completely unjustifiable for an individual, even if you can easily afford it.
It would make far more sense to have two different products - personal and enterprise - with the latter offering better options / support that companies want. This is understandable as B2B but an absolutely terrible sales strategy for any individuals or small teams. The disassembler itself is around 1800 dollars (last time i checked), and with a decompiler for both x86 and 圆4 that increase the cost up to around 6,600 - 6,800USD This program is an intellectual property of Hex-Rays SA.

#IDA PRO DEMO FREE#
IDA Pro Free is developed for Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 environment, 32-bit version.
PS: for those of you interested in de-compilation, there is one decompiler worth giving it a try called RetDec from researchers working for Avast, they have an IDA plugin to make the decompiler work in IDA, with a lot architectures support, you should try it out. IDA Pro 25 can be downloaded from our website for free. IDA Pro Free 5.0 can be downloaded from our website for free. I'll say, I'm grateful that there is competition in the form of Ghidra or Hopper or any other tools, but IDA Pro is still going to be the industry standard for a while (sometimes you're only as good as your tools).
#IDA PRO DEMO SOFTWARE#
like 6 months or 1 year, in that case paying for IDA Pro is like an investment and I swear to god I'm not being paid to say this, but it really is a good software worth that amount). if we were to think of it this way, How much value will you be able to create from having IDA Pro + HexRays decompiler? (is it more than the amount above in a short period of time say. I get it, thats a lot of money, but you'd pay that amount if you work in a job that is RE-heavy or better yet your company will. Reading the comments here, I'm a bit confused, I dont think ida pro is as poor/slow as everyone makes it to be, and the disassembler itself is around 1800 dollars (last time i checked), and with a decompiler for both x86 and 圆4 that increase the cost up to around 6,600 - 6,800USD (I see people exaggerating the amount to 8K or 10K usd).
